Fortnite | Becoming the Metaverse
Two weeks ago, I watched with millions of other gamers as Fortnite released Chapter 4: Season 2. If you aren't familiar with Fortnite, it's one of the most popular games in the world with over 500 million players. It popularized the “Gaming as a Service” (GaaS) era that monetized the game post-release by offering the game for free and selling cosmetic u…

🐤 Nug #1 — Arc for Mobile

I’ve been waiting for this from the moment I opened Arc for Mac last Summer.

If you’re interested, I wrote a really fun deep dive on it last year that the CEO, Josh, said encapsulated their vision beautifully.

🐤 Nug #2 — Notion Buttons (can run pre-programmed actions)

Once again, Notion is making “programming” easier for everyone by reducing complexity.

Buttons in Notion have evolved, and they now support full-fledged automated actions. That’s right — actions, plural! - Insert blocks - Add and edit pages - Open existing or new pages - Show custom confirmations Some button ideas, threaded below 👇🏼
This image shows a Notion window set on a blue background. In the app, the user is setting up a button block (newly updated), and you can see the five different functionalities that the button can automate: insert blocks, add page, edit page, show confirmation, and open page.

🐤 Nug #3 — ChatGPT App Store

The next step in the AI (r)evolution: using natural language to do a million things on the internet.

🐤 Nug #5 — Whoop’s Real-time Stress Monitor

This is some really cool product work. Whoop has put in a lot of time, effort, and research to build a health monitor that you don’t ever have to take off (I wrote all about their strategy in this article) and this is why that work is so important. Easily pin-point the things in life that are stressors.

Super into this tray pattern we’ve developed for @family. It’s a really elegant way to display additional context to the user right before they continue, without making the underlying screen busy.
